Quelque chose derrière ça

February 22 to March 28, 2012
New workshop on visual arts creation!

Québec, January 18, 2012 – This winter, Folie/Culture offered a new workshop in visual arts creation for people who have or have had a mental health problem. The Quelque chose derrière ça creative workshop led by the artist Josée Sirois Landry was held at the Maison des métiers d’art de Québec.

Quelque chose derrière ça
The Quelque chose derrière ça workshop consisted in creating one or more works using techniques such as drawing, painting, and collage. The idea was to create brigades of emotions represented by silhouettes that would be embodied according to the inspiration of each participant. The artist Josée Landry Sirois gave participants the opportunity to intervene directly on large panels on which they had to represent, exaggerate, and magnify themselves through the visual arts.

A young artist from Québec city, Josée Landry Sirois’s medium of choice is drawing. Influenced by architecture, urbanism, and codified writing, she sets down on her paper high-energy graphic gestures where structure and deconstruction face off. Her work has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Canada.

Wednesday, February 22 and 29, and Wednesday, March 7, 14, 21 and 28 2012, from 1 pm to 5 pm
