Folie/Culture and the designer, Kim Kneipp, presented a montage of un-sewn and then re-sewn clothing produced during the Les Beaux Habits workshop that was held in fall 2005 at the Maison des métiers d’art de Québec. The creations of the participants in the workshop formed a recycled corpus; they were all derived from common coats, and demonstrate an evolution of forms and emotions, the emergence of a second skin
from what had been discarded.

This is a visual route through the inconstant textures of our fabricated habits. We uncover ourselves as we give up our old winter clothes, in the same that we discover we all have a well-hidden fantasy inside our invisible lining.
