Ostentatious Normality – Exhibition
From September 22 to October 2, 2016, Folie/Culture invited you to the second and final part of its six-week multidisciplinary event: the Ostentatious Normality exhibition. The opening and performance were held September 22, 2016, at 5 pm, preceded by a meet ‘n’ greet with the artists at 4 pm.Every time we stand up and express ourselves in public, we broaden the spectrum of normality. It’s our job to reshape the collective hallucination that is normality with new, provocative, destabilizing models ⎯ or just a carnivalesque celebration.
Featuring installations, video and performances from artists Soufia Bensaïd (Montreal), José Breton (Quebec City), Patrick Demazeau (France), Maximilien Ramoul (France), and the Massecar • d’Orion (Montreal) and Jean-Sébastien Vague (Montreal) collectives, all created for the Ostentatious Normality exhibition. Each performance is an opening into liminal spaces: Let’s leave nothing in the closet!
