Les passés et futurs troubles / Disparate Past, Uncertain Future, a bilingual publication, is the third and last part of the activities that celebrate the 20th anniversary of Folie/Culture. It describes the first two festive events one retrospective, the other forward-looking that Folie/Culture organized in May 2004, and April 2005.

In Disparate Past, it was important to invite people from outside the organization to reflect on the relationship between art and society in a way that mirrored the experimentation of Folie/Culture over the last 20 years. In Uncertain Future, the invitation was to react to certain ideas that broke with the past.

Disparate Past, Uncertain Future brings together the texts of nine people from varied backgrounds and training – a psychoanalyst, a researcher, a philosopher, a cultural manager, a psychologist, and a former mental patient : Guy Blackburn, Ellen Corin, Benoît Côté, Jean-Ernest Joos, Rufus May, Alain-Martin Richard, Sylvie Royer, Denys Tremblay and Luc Vigneault.
