L’impression des regards
<
Rayonnement Corridor, near the entrance to the Urbanopolis exhibition
Québec
Participant(s): Thierry Arcand-Bossé, Martin Bureau, François Chevalier, Cooke-Sasseville, Amélie Laurence Fortin, Laurent Gagnon, Paryse Martin, Jacques Samson, Les Soeurs Couture and a team from Folie/Culture.
For the start up of the cultural season, Folie/Culture has a fundraising idea like no other. L’impression des regards is the logical follow-up to the Regards fous event where artists from the Québec City region designed functional manhole covers that have been integrated into the street of St. Vallier Est in Québec since last June 13. This time, the artists have made original prints from the matrix that were used in the design of their manhole covers.
Some have opted for wood engraving (Chevelier, Fortin, Gagnon), others for embossing (Samson), or digital printing (Bureau, Les Sœurs Couture and Martin) and still others for serigraphy (Arcand-Bossé, Cooke-Sasseville and Félix Leblanc for Folie/Culture).
Eleven copies of each print will be on sale for $300 each. This is a unique opportunity to obtain an original work by renowned artists from Québec and to support the audacity of Folie/Culture.
This event will also underline the whole range of actions taken by Folie/Culture since 1984. In turn, it has occupied the street, museums, closed up rooms, church squares, and train station halls with proposals that have woven links between creation and mental health.
Folie/Culture would like to thank the centre Vu and Engramme for their collaboration.
