2014 Audio Art Creation Workshop
For the fourth time, Folie/Culture introduced participants to audio art through a truly creative experience. Érick d’Orion encouraged hands-on exploration and experimentation by recording ambient sounds, introducing participants to computer sound applications, and working with “voice” material, turntables and audio processing. Participants also prepared for a final creative project. Of course, all this followed an introduction to various audio creation approaches and trends designed to illustrate the wide-ranging creative possibilities of audio art.
Érick d’Orion lives and works in Quebec City. A sound artist, musician and curator, his practice focuses on reinterpreting various concepts drawn from art history. His practice includes installation work that redefines the acoustic space and the viewer’s relationship to familiar images, and continually combining new technology and sound to create perpetually evolving works.
