Folie/Culture was inviting you to the vernissage for the group exhibition The Honouring on December 7 at Méduse (591 rue Saint-Vallier Est, Quebec City).
This performance/celebration was showcasing work made in creation workshops held in four mental health groups in the Quebec City region. Artist Josée Landry-Sirois and art historian Jeanne Couture invited participants at these workshops to create art that engages with the theme of pride. Focusing on this theme, their creations took the form of medals, drawings, and writings.
Unveiled for the first time at this exhibition, these works were standing as personal testimonies representing the diverse conceptions of pride found among the 28 participants.
This project is a collaboration with L’Amarrage, the Centre communautaire l’Amitié, the Centre de parrainage civique de Québec and the Centre social de la Croix blanche.
