Streetwear: printing on fabric

September 29 and 30, 2018

In collaboration with the Société du patrimoine urbain de Québec and Engramme, Folie/Culture invited the public to a fabric-printing event in the heart of the Saint-Roch neighbourhood on Saturday September 29 and Sunday September 30, 2018, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The public made their own Manhole Madness print on rue Saint-Vallier Est. Artists Laurent Gagnon and Paryse Martin were also present to discuss their experience making their own contributions to Manhole Madness.

Tenth anniversary of Manhole Madness!
During Quebec City’s 400th anniversary in 2008, Folie/Culture came up with an imaginative way of appropriating public property: professional artists were selected to design 10 manhole covers for a project called Manhole Madness.

Urban imprint
Folie/Culture was inviting you to rediscover these 10 pieces and to create your own Manhole Madness print. Participants were provided with all the necessary materials to make a print. During the activity, artists Laurent Gagnon and Paryse Martin presented their works and discussed their involvement in the original project.
