Le Cabaret ben normal
A multi-disciplinary event
October 9 at 8 p.m.
At Le Cercle, 228, rue Saint-Joseph Est, Québec
Just like any other cabaret, Le Cabaret ben normal was surprising with its eclectic programming: burlesque striptease, performance, apropos presentations by specialists, circus acts, a quiz and a hilarious karaoke. The actor Maxime Robin was hosting the show, and Fred Lebrasseur was providing the musical accompaniment.
Folie/Culture has entrusted the artists Cristina Moscini (Bambi Balboa), Jean-Philippe Luckhurst-Cartier, Machine de Cirque, Simon Paradis-Dionne and the collective On est tu heureux hen. with the task of opening a new breach in normality, invented and metamorphosed under the weight of wild and furious sub-cultures.
In this crazy universe, the expression of extremes becomes the object of normality that is …. ostentatious. Nothing is left in the closet! Then, what does a normal striptease, a normal performance, a normal circus look like? What does a normal artist look like? And a normal cabaret evening?
Tackling the notion of normality, plagued with doubts, filled with clichés and prejudices, promises to be an exploration that is rich in reflections where no one will be left indifferent in regard to our annual theme: Ostentatious Normality.
Folie/Culture has been presenting artistic and social activities with an aim to building awareness in the area of mental health since 1984.
Jean-Philippe Luckhurst-Cartier (Mtl), Machine de Cirque (Qc), Cristina Moscini (Qc), the collective On est tu heureux hen. (Qc), Simon Paradis-Dionne (Qc), hosted by Maxime Robin and musical accompaniment by Fred Lebrasseur.
