Blogueurs en captivité (Bloggers in Captivity)… DARE-DARE launch in Montreal!
near Atwater Market (Lionel-Groulx Metro station), Montreal
Folie/Culture, in collaboration with DARE-DARE, unveiled its publication Blogueurs en captivité (Bloggers in Captivity), Quebec/Montreal/Saguenay at DARE-DARE, September 30, with author Daniel Canty and artists Adam Bergeron and Karen Elaine Spencer.
This 96-page book of text and illustrations includes the writings of Anne-Marie Bouchard (art historian), André C. Drainville (sociologist), Daniel Canty (writer) and Jean-Rémi Dionne (political scientist), who revisit the three in situ artistic performances presented by Folie/Culture in 2013 and 2014 featuring artist/bloggers Martin Dufrasne and Sarah L’Hérault (Quebec City), Adam Bergeron and Karen Elaine Spencer (Montreal), and Alain-Martin Richard and Stefanie Tremblay (Saguenay).
The authors closely examine the artist/bloggers’ explorations of the alienation associated with information technology specifically and mental, social and political alienation more generally.
