Folie/Culture à Québec en toutes lettres

september 13 to 23 october 2011
At the invitation of the Institut Canadien de Québec, Folie/Culture and artist Josée Landry Sirois concocted the workshop Cartographie d’un rêve (Mapping of a Dream) for children aged 5 to 10 years old . This workshop was offered in the library network of the city of Québec during the Québec literary festival, Québec en toutes lettres, which ran from October 13 to 23, 2011.

Cartographie d’un rêve
The idea was to design on paper a visual arts project exploring drawing, collage and codified writing. Faithful to the universe of Réjean Ducharme, the artist had the idea of imagining a story as a treasure hunt! Everyone had to invent and build his own route, his journey, which would lead to a dream, a wish that he wanted to achieve.

Josée Landry-Sirois
A young artist from Québec city, Josée Landry Sirois’s medium of choice is drawing. Influenced by architecture, urbanism, and codified writing, she sets down on her paper high-energy graphic gestures where structure and deconstruction face off. Her work has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Canada.
