Folie/Culture, in collaboration with the Bang centre, is pleased to present the intervention Bloggers in Captivity on tour in Saguenay! Two artist bloggers, Alain-Martin Richard (Québec) and Stéfanie Tremblay (Saguenay), will close themselves off for three days in their glass cages on the Place du Citoyen and will live the experience of alienation. Are we all alienated? Or, at least, are we all, individually, alienated from someone? Is our relationship with information technology both alienating and enriching? Are some forms of alienation more acceptable than others? If so, does this social acceptability make our alienation, which is sometimes voluntary and sometimes imposed, more comfortable? With Bloggers in Captivity Folie/Culture intends to take the pulse of a certain globalized and mediatised madness.

Two artists in residence, captives in an impermeable and completely transparent bubble, will take up the challenge of isolating themselves to better align with the world. Alienated from the immediate world, marinating in a glass cage, they will try to join their peers in making this appeal to the World Wide Web: Alienated from all countries, unite!

The work of Alain-Martin Richard, established performer and essayist, finds its roots in the local community and always incorporates unique aspects of what he calls the “human landscape.”

The emerging artist Stefanie Tremblay, discusses her self-deprecating thoughts on daily living and is committed to making her personal life a narrative background tinged by pop culture, the Internet, and rock.
