AT POINT DE SUSPENSION BOOKSTORE
Bang Centre, 132 Rue Racine Est, Chicoutimi, 5:00 pm
Folie/Culture, in collaboration with Bang Center, unveiled its publication Blogueurs en captivité (Bloggers in Captivity), Quebec/Montreal/Saguenay at the Point de suspension bookstore, September 17, with author Jean-Rémi Dionne and artist Stefanie Tremblay.
This 96-page book of text and illustrations includes the writings of Anne-Marie Bouchard (art historian), André C. Drainville (sociologist), Daniel Canty (writer) and Jean-Rémi Dionne (political scientist), who revisit the three in situ artistic performances presented by Folie/Culture in 2013 and 2014 featuring artist/bloggers Martin Dufrasne and Sarah L’Hérault (Quebec City), Adam Bergeron and Karen Elaine Spencer (Montreal), and Alain-Martin Richard and Stefanie Tremblay (Saguenay).
The authors closely examine the artist/bloggers’ explorations of the alienation associated with information technology specifically and mental, social and political alienation more generally.
